Post-Production Pro Tips: Price Isn’t Everything

Price Isn’t Everything

At PWD, we take a boutique approach to things. By getting to know our clients, we are better able to provide useful services and return images that match your personal style.

We have many clients who come to us from other editing companies, unhappy with their previous experience. Sometimes they question our prices at first, but after a job or two they realize that the old saying is true: you get what you pay for.

“You nailed it! I have been on the fence about the switch to PWD – you guys cost more than [your competitor] – but this most recent job is really making me see the value in the Signature service. Super happy photographer here!”
– Leah Haydock of Leah Haydock Photography

We don’t claim to be the cheapest, but we’ve been told more than once that we are the best.

“I’ve used a few different post production services, and I have to say that PWD is the best! Their turnaround time is super fast, and they really ‘got’ what I wanted in my Signature correction.”
– Lauri Bracewell of Laurie Bracewell Photography

So this week’s tip is this: As you consider getting outside help with your editing, don’t make price your only deciding factor. Take everything into consideration – services offered, ease-of use, accessibility of the editor and of customer service, and good old know-how.

Sure, you need to choose an option that works for your budget, but as is always the case, you get what you pay for.

Quick-Tip: When considering the costs associated with sending out your editing, don’t forget to include the costs associated with doing it yourself: your time, equipment and training, and opportunity costs with regards to income-generating activities you could be doing instead. Quick-Tip: Have a limited budget but still want some help? Start slow by getting help with just one or two tasks. It’s not an all or nothing proposition.
