How to download from FTP using a Windows PC

The following instructions are for Windows users.  Mac users, click here for help with downloading from FTP.

So you’ve just received notification from Post that your post-production job is complete and the files are waiting for you in your FTP account.  If you’re not familiar with FTP, this article will walk you through the process of getting your files.

1. Go to My Computer.  This can generally be found within the Start menu.
2. In the My Computer window, confirm that the address bar is visible.  If not, go to View->Toolbars and click Address Bar.
3. In the address bar, enter the Post server address, as follows: ftp://ftp.postedits.comThen click Go.
4. A login screen will appear.  Log in using the same email address and password you use to log in to the Post website.If you’ve forgotten your password, click here.
5. If the login was successful, the window will now display what’s on your remote FTP account.Open the “Downloads” folder, and then open the folder corresponding to the job you want to download.
6. Once you have located the files, you need to copy them locally to your computer. Drag and drop them to a folder on your desktop, or wherever you would like to store them.Note that the transfer may take a while, depending on the file size and your internet connection speed.
